Dr. Fee is board certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics and maintains a clinical practice in hospital medicine. He is a graduate of Tulane Health Sciences Center.
Dr. Fee has extensive experience in hospital based medicine, DRG management, clinical documentation integrity (CDI), including that impacting quality performance measures and risk adjustment across the continuum. He has been actively involved in operations and process development of CDI programs across the country, including ground level training of physician advisors, coders, and clinical documentation improvement specialists. He works closely with clients regarding value based reimbursement and risk based payment models. He also works with physicians in understanding the impact of documentation on CPT (E/M) assignment.
Dr. Fee has also provided local, state, and national presentations including CHIA, NCHIMA, LHIMA, ACDIS, AHIMA, American Association of Physician Leadership coupled with many hours of direct physician, CDS, and coder education. He has authored articles for ACDIS, ICD-10 Monitor, Journal of AHIMA, and Advance Executive Insight targeting physician integration and collaboration in CDI. He also serves as an Advisory Board member for both ACDIS and HIM Briefings. Finally, Dr. Fee has worked to incorporate advancing technology with data analytics and ongoing physician education through Enjoin’s web-based application, CDocT®.
