Dr. Martin has provided clinical insight and education as part of the pre-bill review process since 2014. She is board-certified in General Surgery and is a member of the Enjoin physician task force to assist our clients with documentation improvement and provide specialty-to-specialty physician education in areas related to ICD-10, with a focus on surgical procedures and ICD-10-PCS.
Prior to joining Enjoin full-time, she maintained a private practice at Surgery Specialists of Hot Springs in Hot Springs, Arkansas since 2008. She also served on the Medical Executive Committee at National Park Medical Center where she was previously a practicing General Surgeon as well as the Director of Medical Services and Physician Advisor. Prior to her work in Arkansas, Dr. Martin was the Chairman of Surgery at Harris Northwest. She maintained a private practice at Northwest Surgeons in Ft. Worth, Texas from 2005 to 2008 and was an Assistant Professor for the University of North Texas Health Science Center’s Department of Surgery.
Dr. Martin is board-certified in General Surgery with licenses in both Arkansas and Texas. She has published works including Minimally Invasive Saphenous Vein Harvest with the SaphLite System with A.Yurvati, DO and D.Peska, DO, and The International Journal of Surgery. As a member of the Enjoin Panel Presentation at the 2014 AHIMA Convention in San Diego, she participated in the presentation “Diagnosis and Assessment of ICD-10: A Surgeon’s Perspective” and has also presented at the Association of Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists (ACDIS) Conference in 2016 and the Ohio Health Information Management Association (OHIMA) annual meetings in 2015 and 2016.
She received her Doctor of Osteopathy from the University of North Texas Health Science Center and her Bachelor of Science and Chemistry from the University of North Texas, Denton.
Dr. Martin is a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons and her professional affiliations include of the American Medical Association, the American Osteopathic Association and the American Society of Breast Surgeons.
